About

Indigenous-led consulting, built around how band offices actually work.

I’m an Indigenous consultant based in British Columbia. My background is in First Nations infrastructure, housing, capital planning, and funding and capital-file work — the day-to-day reality of running programs inside band administration.

What I do

I help First Nations governments, band managers, housing departments, capital teams, and economic development offices get through funding cycles, manage capital projects, track housing and assets, and modernize the systems they rely on day to day.

That work increasingly includes AI workflow tools — small, focused systems that take real administrative load off staff who are already stretched thin. Nothing flashy. Just fewer hours wasted on document hunting, copy-pasting, and rewriting the same updates for five different funders.

Why this work

Small First Nations administrations carry an enormous amount of responsibility with limited resources. Reporting demands keep growing. Funding programs change every fiscal year. Staff turnover makes institutional knowledge fragile. Outside consultants come and go, and a lot of what they leave behind doesn’t survive past their last invoice.

I work the way I’d want a consultant to work if I were sitting on the other side of the desk — with respect for staff time, clear scopes, and deliverables the office can actually keep using.

How I work

A short list of commitments.

  • Plain language. No jargon for the sake of it. Documents that councils and managers can read without translation.
  • Realistic scopes. Quotes that match what the work actually takes — not what fits a template proposal.
  • Practical deliverables. Documents, templates, and systems your team can keep using after I leave.
  • Respect for community pace. Council schedules, seasonal pressure, and protocol always come first.
  • Honest about AI. I’ll tell you when AI tools help, when they don’t, and when a spreadsheet is still the right answer.
  • No lock-in. Tools you can run, edit, and replace. Documentation written for the next person, not just the current one.
  • Confidentiality. Community data stays with the community. Working files aren’t shared with third-party AI vendors without your call.
  • Built to leave well. The goal is systems your team owns — not contracts that quietly renew forever.
